According to CCTV News: A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck near Sorkheh City, Semnan Province, Iran, at 21:19 local time on June 20, 2025, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located at 35.38°N latitude and 53.07°E longitude, with tremors felt in Tehran, Qom, Damavand, and Karaj, Iran. Iran is situated in a seismically active zone where the Arabian, Indian, and Eurasian tectonic plates converge, frequently experiencing strong earthquakes. As of now, there have been no reports of casualties or property damage.
