An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred in Turkey at 10:46 local time on October 16, 2024， at a depth of 10 kilometers, with the epicenter located at 38.30 degrees north latitude and 38.70 degrees east longitude.Turkey is located at the junction of three major plates, the Asia-Europe Plate, the Indian Ocean Plate and the African Plate, and about 42% of the country is on an active seismic zone, which is geologically unstable and prone to earthquakes. Up to now, no casualties and property losses have been reported.
