Soil moisture content is an important indicator for verifying the effectiveness of desertification control projects. However, current research still lacks research on typical desertification control engineering measures, and the impact on soil moisture is not clear. This study selected specific desertification control measures through field investigations, and obtained soil moisture content under the influence of sand barriers such as nylon nets through field sampling and indoor analysis. This data is helpful for studying the protection and ecological benefits of desertification control projects.

The sampling points used to determine soil moisture content are located within the nylon mesh sand barrier and gypsum board mesh sand barrier in the engineering treatment area, as well as within the surface of the flowing sand in the untreated area. Dig one profile at each of the three sampling points in sequence, with 18 samples taken from each profile. The sampling depths are as follows: surface, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, and 50 cm. A total of 54 soil samples were obtained and placed in sealed bags for testing.
The moisture content of soil samples was determined by laboratory drying method. All samples were tested in parallel three times and the average value was taken to reduce experimental errors. The data type is numerical attribute data, and Excel is used for data entry, calculation, and organization. The calculation process is based on the drying method standard. The final data is stored in a standardized table format after outlier testing and accuracy verification to ensure consistency and traceability of the data.
The data of this study was obtained after strict quality control and accuracy testing. The entire process of sampling, processing, and measurement follows the Technical Specifications for Soil Environmental Monitoring (HJ/T 166-2004). Samples at each sampling depth were measured in parallel three times, and the average was taken as the final result. The relative standard deviation of repeated measurements was less than 3%. The weighing accuracy is ± 0.01 g, and the temperature control accuracy is ± 0.5 ° C. During the experiment, the sampling tools were cleaned to prevent cross contamination. Data entry was double checked by two people, and abnormal value detection and consistency testing were conducted to ensure data integrity and reliability.
