This dataset consists of monthly mean observations of total column ozone at the Global Atmospheric Background Observatory (GAWBO) at Waliguan, Qinghai, China, from 1993 to 1995 and from 1997 to 2010. The GAWBO was established in 1994 and is located on the Tibetan Plateau at an altitude of 3,810 meters above sea level. At an altitude of 3,810 meters, it is the world's highest atmospheric background reference observatory and the first atmospheric background reference observatory located in the hinterland of a continent, and its establishment fills the gap of the Global Atmospheric Monitoring Network (GAW) within the Eurasian continent.
